But I found this desk. Look at those legs! This could really be cute and wouldn't take a life-time to paint.
It had, however, seen better days. I love me some natural, time-worn shabbiness, but this isn't it.
So, I pulled out the Citristrip and got to work. After stripping and staining the top, I painted the base my favorite color (for the moment) - Provence.
I prefer to do my distressing before I wax so I gave it some shabbiness, then two coats of clear wax.
The brass hardware had to go so they got a coat of oil-rubbed bronze paint.
This great desk is dead beat no more!
It's move-in ready and I'll be moving it in tomorrow!
