Then I got an itch to do something different. So I traced and inked a Graphics Fairy logo.
So when I found this cool stool I knew it needed a more industrial touch.
I grabbed another graphic from Karen at the Graphics Fairy and decided to try a new technique. I've heard people talk about a transfer paper called TAP (Transfer Artist Paper). I printed the image in reverse on the paper and the cut closely around it.
I placed the paper face down on the stool and covered it with some protective paper that was included in the kit.
Then, iron away on high heat. It takes longer than an iron-on on fabric and it slightly changed the color of the wood. The result, however certainly matches the character of the piece.
It looks like that pocket watch has been there for years!
I'll be very selective about when I use the transfer paper again, but I'm liking this industrial stool!

You are right Cyndi, that watch seems to have been handpainted to the stool since the day it was built.. it looks awesome and the technique is very simple. Thank you for sharing.
