Anyway, I recently found these two amazing oars.
I loved the aqua color and the perfect shabby-chippiness!
They still have the awesome hardware attached!
Only problem is, they're plain. They were just crying out for some attention.
So in honor of the Olympics, I thought I'd give them some stars and stripes.
I used my Silhouette to cut some stars out of contact paper. Then I put some blue painter's tape on the other oar for some stripes.
Then I grabbed some red acrylic paint and went to work.
After two coats of paint, I took off the stencil.
Did you hear them say, "thank you?"

What a great transformation! Such a cute decorative item, I sure wish I could find some here in landlocked Dallas :) Thanks for a great idea!
Cheers, Andrea
Love the color of the oars, and I love what you did with them. You really look them to another level. So darn cute, and how ever did you come up with the idea? So glad you shared your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – your creativity helped make the party a success!

Wow, I love them! Now I want to know how you got to the part where you "found these amazing oars". I've gotta get me some of those.
Thanks,
Mary
I do believe I did hear them say thanks! I love oars. I sold mine to a neighbor before I move. Now I'm kicking myself. With my left foot, that is. Thanks for joining my party!
