My grandson has come to visit. I'm busy entertaining a 3 year old! Not much painting getting done these days, but I did want to show you another chalkboard that I finished last week! You'll remember that I made this menu board and followed it up with this chalkboard made from a vintage window frame.
Well my husband occasionally brings home "treasures" for me to repurpose. I've had this foot board in my garage for over a year so while I was in the chalkboard mode, I pulled it out.
He cut the feet off the ends and proceeded to paint it. The center got two coats of chalkboard paint.
Then I painted the frame with two coats of ASCP Provence. Have I mentioned that that's my favorite??
It needed some kind of quote for the top and I looked and looked before settling on this one. I simply printed it out, traced it with carbon paper, then traced the image with a Sharpie marker.
I topped it off with a coat of clear wax then hauled it off to the shop.
So was it a bold dream to transform a foot board into a blackboard?
I must have done something right. It didn't last a week!

Love it! I love the saying too! Not a wonder it didn't last long!

What a great chalkboard that made, Cyndi! Love the color. I just ordered a sample size of Provence {and some Coco}. It always looks great in pictures so it's time I tried it out myself.
That came out great. Very clever and congrats on selling it so quickly.
