This just in...

Before you start fussing at me about the absence of "before" pictures, you need to know that I started this piece in December.  I've been waiting for the weather to cooperate so I could finish it.  I live in Texas so all of my painting is done in the driveway.

I found this cabinet at a flea market.  Originally, it had been stained oak.  Someone had painted it barn red.  I was having 1980's flashbacks!  It needed to be updated.

So I gave it two coats of ASCP graphite.

I decided not to distress it since the red showed through.
Just wasn't pretty.

The brass hardware just wouldn't work, so I painted them
Krylon's Oil Rubbed Bronze and finished her off with two coats of clear wax.

She's a great home for white ironstone!

It's funny how finishing one piece inspires you to start another.
I need another sunny day!

This china cabinet is so lovely! I love the way your white dishes compliment the blue color. I haven't tried using chalk paint yet but I have heard great things. You did a very beautiful job on it.

I'm stopping over from the newbie party and am your newest follower. If you have time I'd love to have you stop by and check out my blog and (if you'd like!) follow me too.

Have a wonderful night,
Sarah

The color is the perfect contrast to the white of the ironstone. A favorite combo of my own.
