Crazy for Houndstooth

Perhaps it's the math teacher in me.  I love a good geometric pattern.  Houndstooth especially!  I've got more than one piece of houndstooth in my wardrobe and decided it was time to add some to my furniture collection!

I got a great little table at an estate sale recently.  It was already painted turquoise!  Score!  But the top had water damage and the veneer was buckling.  So we stripped off the top layer and I painted the top white.

I used my Silhouette to cut a houndstooth stencil.

My original plan was to paint the houndstooth black and white but I decided to go for a softer look and used Paris Gray.

I just love pulling the stencil off to reveal the pattern!

Perfect!

Two coats of clear wax later it was ready to show off.

I think the gray was the perfect color choice!

She's gone to the shop this week.
