A Rose is a Rose

When people see my booth at the shop, they frequently ask if my house looks the same.  Well, I thought I'd give you a tour over the next few weeks.

We'll start today in the guest bedroom.  When my boys flew the coup, I decided to remodel the bedroom into a guest room.  I settled on a color scheme of yellow and pink.

After painting the walls yellow, it was time to start decorating!  That's the fun part!

I loved this chest when I found it, complete with vintage beadboard top.  The mirror is actually an old door.

In keeping with the theme, I put beadboard on top of this bedside table.  Love, love, love the architectural newel post in the corner!

I painted this quaint bookcase white with pink inside.

This press on chest is my favorite piece of furniture in the room.

Well, that and the chandy!  I couldn't believe it when I found this tole chandelier with pink and yellow roses!  That's worth not having a ceiling fan, don't you think?

Once the furniture was in place, it was time to decorate the walls!  I am a sucker for architectural salvage.  Isn't this shelf awesome?

Sprinkle in vintage china and tole trays....

and some rusty iron...

I feel like I've stepped into a Victorian garden.

Beautiful! Love it. I was starting to get worried that everything you have is blue! Not that there's anything wrong with blue. Everything my parents owned was blue, so I tend to stay away from it! I love my parents- There is such thing as too much blue though. Anyhow, your chandy is lovely! What a find. I like what you did with the gate. Very original. And now I need a bookcase to paint! Thanks for sharing.
